About time it had its own topic...plus there's an update

For those that don't know its a auto-mute plugin to save your hearing & equipment from nasty spikes.

Without a doubt the best free plugin ever.If you like having your hearing

It's an automatic part of my "new song" template on the master out. As far as I'm concerned, there are many good reasons -- my ears, my speakers, my headsets -- for using it, and no reason whatsoever not to.

Yes much more useful than the usual limiter based approach.

Thanks for the heads up. Will use this from now on. :tu:

But being digital, the sound quality sucks.

This thing should be built into every DAW, as far as I'm concerned.

What a great idea. And it's free :o

Thanks :tu:

@ere2learn - Thanks for the heads up!

@ CEREBUS - Pure and simple, GENIUS! Thank you for the free and very useful plugin. I expect I will use it regularly.

My hearing hasn't been the same since The Police concert in 1982. I gotta do everything I can to keep what I got left.
Gaslighting...is a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted or spun, selectively omitted to favor the abuser, or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception, and sanity.

I find myself having to use a limiter most of the time after this plugin as it still spikes for a few milliseconds or so when tripping. Not sure if that's a dc offset problem or what but it still results in a loud (albeit brief) pop. Still helps though. This and logic's limiter have been in all of my projects for a few years now.
