Hello,
I published this week a vocoder for iPad. I tried to create one able to render nice choir effects, but soloist voices also. I used FFT, additive synthesis added to the casual vocoder components.
This is a demo of this instrument on You Tube :
It is not the first vocoder I program, and maybe not the last one. Your comments are welcome.

There are 64 bands for the vocoder part. But the definition comes from the additive synthesis which is controlled by the analyser so much than by the controllers and sliders.
If you say "Oooh", you'll have less harmonics than if you say "Aaaah" for example. So you have a double definition to render what you say in the microphone.
