Ok, here is my setup

Tascam TM-D1000 midi out through a MOTU Midi Time Piece AV.
I wanted to control Cubase audio faders, mute and pan controls in the VST Mixer.
I was able to get the Faders and Mute to work, but cannot figure out what is wrong with the Pan control???

I checked (using midi-monitor) that when I use the Pan control on my Tascam it is sending out the correct controller information to Cubase ie Cntrl#10.

In Device Setup, I have created the Generic Remote correctly, as the Fader and Mute control works.

When in the lower box the Pan control is set like this:
Control Name is Pan #1-#16
Device is set to VST Mixer on 1-16
Channel/Categ is set from Audio 1 - Audio 16
Value/Action is set to #1026 (more about this)
Flags is nothing

Now I dont understand the Value/Action thing, when you open up the selection box, there is no Pan control available..... so how and what does the number #1026 refer to???? I am assuming this is the key to getting the pan to work correctly???

Any help would be appreciated, as I am pulling my hair out... and will soon be bald. :-)

thank you.

Do you have the SX 2.2 update? There used to be a problem with the generic remote in SX and Nuendo 2 (no way of controlling pan or EQ a.s.o.), but it was fixed with the 2.2 update.

HMMMM...that`s real strange cause in my host...nuendo...when I open the "Value/Action" list,I have "Panner PanLR".

When I choose that, and the rest that you have setup,it will control the pan.
I am,as you are, using the "generic" controller device setup.
What I also needed to do,was to select,say,pan1(in upper section),then click on the "learn" button as I turned my controller knob.(the midi chn# will be shown)
This will work for you if just changing to "Panner PanLR" does not work.(lower section)
PIX BELOW(may need to expand pix size in explorer)

PS: I have the latest version of nuendo.I never used a controller for pan or eq until this test...so I can`t say from experience if an earlier version did not work.

So...can I assume that "Panner PanLR" is not in your list?
Just curious.
