Haven't seen the info on KVR.

It may work out better in the long run (though I'm not confident). Soundcloud's problems today stem from trying to turn itself into a poor man's Spotify. If Spotify sees Soundcloud as a way of expanding its reach to new artists that might point to it going back to the old Soundcloud way of working.
The problem for Spotify is if labels say "hang on, our artists have done these deals through us with Apple Music etc, you can't get more via the back door", leading to the situation where Spotify starts to lose money and material simply by trying to buy its way into more material.

Only one thing bothers me: will my Soundcloud account stay there or not?

I suppose if they spend that money, the free option will be in danger.
They already loose money and they will try to get the money back ASAP.
