I would love an VSTI singletrack where the midirecording use maxresolution, afterwords you mark a region and by fetch the bassdrums and snares it will automatically calculate/interpreate the BPM and transform the full track into a BPM adjusted version.

It would be so nice to lay a groove using youtube and then magically make it synch with metronome.
No real quantization just interpolate the timesignature and transform "well that would be form of quantization".

I can see how that would certainly raise my productivity. A good drummer have no problem laying tracks to a metronome but for me it is a pain.

I just remember how i think i used to do this i did import the song into cooledit "Multitrack wav" and cut out a couple of beats nice beats from song copied them a couple of times.

Cooledit had a function to extract tempo of wave music with constant bpm?

And cooledit could be set to timesignature master and then i used Steinberg pro 24 "atari" or equal as slave.

Surely there must be a better way today?
