I clean the fans regularly so it is not dust. Somebody told me that I should perhaps reapply CPU thermal paste. What do you think? It is 2012 model Thinkpad Edge E530. Would you really need to reapply thermal paste for 4 year old machine? Some googling claimed that you would never need to reapply it unless you remove the sink.
I mean it is quite a lot of work with laptops to do this, you need to remove a lot of stuff and there is always the risk that you mess up something. I just did change the motherboard of my gig laptop so I can do these sort of things, but this is my main DAW laptop so I really would not want to tear it down this heavily unless it is absolutely neccessary..
I have some gliches in audio now and then and I know that CPU throttling (caused by high temps) can do this and I want to be sure that this is not the case
