Device IRQ

ide controller 15
serial bus controller 14
multimedia device 14
input device N\A
serial bus controller 11
mass storage controller 10
display controller 11

ide controller is fine,serial bus controller and multimedia device on 14? in sys info theres nothing on irq 14, input device? don't know what that is, mass storage is fine, display controller is fine but whats with another serial bus controller on irq 11,no mention about it in sys info.
never seen a computer with so many things on boot screen.

Are there jumpers on the mobo[ASUS A7V 133] that have to be turned off to stop some of these from showing up?
Everything in the bios is disabled that can be,theres no mention about serial buss controllers.

Its always been like this and theres no conflicts but it makes me scratch my head on every boot.
Any thoughts...

how do you obtain that list without searching through the device manager?

Serial Bus Controller is USB. You turn that off too?

sleep alot of times you see the IRQ'S and device 'usage' at boot.

usb is disabled in bios..and in device manager..not sure what your asking Sleepgolfer,,on boot up this screen appears,,you press pause key and you can examine it,,

mu asus board menu looks right about that, and the USB I thought about as well. The only other things I can 'see' as input devices, you said you already disabled.

Even thou I don't have on board audio,some of these mobo's did.I wonder if the multimedia device just reserves that irq 14,,but its still strange that a serial device sits on it and doesn't show as sharing in device manager or in sys info...
Can't help but think that my boot time would be quicker if it wasn't searching for stuff thats disabled or is not there....

I'm on standard pc hal so only have 16 irq's and nothing on 16.In device manager I went view hidden devices and found a serial sys driver as well as the usb both disabled,,no change in boot.
These controllers are from the bios instruction anyway aren't they?

You wound't have an IRQ 16, since your count starts from 0, not 1. On my Asus board, when you disable the USB, the Serial Bus Controller entries go away. Curious as to why yours don't. I've also have seen discrepencies between what the BIOS says, and what Windows wants to pick up or not anyway. I'm not sure if this will buy you anything or not, but you could restore the BIOS to defaults and save, or clear BIOS probably with a jumper on your motherboard to see if it clears out hte Serial Bus Controller entries. The Multimedia Device is your sound card as well, and with those disabled in the BIOS, but still showing at boot, it almost sounds like the BIOS something is holding on, and clearing it might help. On the Asus motherboards I've worked with, once you turn something off (embedded NIC, USB, audio, etc) the device disappears off the list on boot. Considering you're not seeing those in the OS, you're probably safe, BUT, very curious they are 'sticking' like that.

My soundcard is on irq 9 so yes ,,multimedia listing irq 14 is very strange,but I think this is reserved for legacy on-board audio,but should still shut off.
I'm seeing alot of jumpers that are able to be turned off but until I find my manual I'm not going there...
I'll try the setup defaults...sometimes turning things on then off again does it...

You can always get the manual off of Asus, as they have them all in PDF format on their website. I think the IRQ 14 is the imbedded still showing up though.
