I've just updated my Synthmaster Player and really wish I hadn't. It caused an immediate crash of Sonar Platinum when I tried to open it. Thinking that it could be a Sonar problem I then tried opening it in Live 9 Lite and it did the same thing.
It can't just be my computer (Windows 10 Professional completely up to date) doing this, can it?

I certainly did.
Sonar acting up didn't amaze me (I can't use the 64 bit version of SynthmasterCM in Sonar due to some compatiblity issue) but when Live didn't like it in exactly the same way I figured the problem is a bit more global.

Sorry for this annoyance folks. I fixed multiple issues related to a bug introduced in v2.8.5

Uploading it now to test server, once we test it we'll annonce it!

I just bought the Player version and it crashes Live. The demo version worked fine. Also says the serial number I was sent is invalid.
On the bright side it was only $6.50 or so after trying the demo for 15 minutes.

Try to do a clean install:

i.e. delete c:\program files\vstplugins\synthmaster2.dll, c:\program files\kv331 audio\synthmaster, my documents/synthmaster/config/synthmasterconfig.txt and then reinstall full setup.

Tried a clean install. Still doesn't like my serial number or license file and Ableton still crashes. Is there an earlier version I could use?

if there is a license key file issue it would crash eventually. can you please PM me your email address and send me the screenshot of the error message you are getting? I'll send you a new serial number
