Hi there,

I have a case here I am unable to fix.

I bought SVF-42 filter 32bit plugin (by slicksquare) and installed it on my PC (64bit, i7, 8GB RAM)

I did a plugin scan in SF Pro 10 and it found it.

When I load the plugin it appears correctly - I can turn all the knobs, sliders etc. but the plugin itself does not affect the sound. There are led volume lamps on it and they are not blinking while the playing the file so it looks like the audio is not routed through the plugin or so..

Don't know what to do - I contacted the support guy (the plugin company (slicksquare) does not exist any longer) and we tried to solve it but none of the advices helped. He tested on his pc and it worked fine.

He said that even if the plugin is 32bit it still works perfectly on 64bit OS so defintely this is not a case.

The plugin is switched on :), in case you asked.

What is strange, it works fine with Acid Pro 7 but I need it in my Sound Forge 10 Pro...

Any ideas? Will appreciate your support!

Thanks!

If it works in Acid, it's not likely an issue with the PC but rather a problem in the host...

Hi,
but how come it displays correctly, all sliders, knobs work fine but it does not affect the sound?
And if any plugin worked in Acid, it worked in SF 10 Pro as well...so where's the problem?

because there's a problem.

the code that displays the controls doesnt change the sound, the code that changes the sound changes the sound...

Anyway, to me, it sounds like the code isnt handling non-realtime useage properly (editors dont tend to be realtime). Maybe test it in Audacity.

The problem is that you were thinking that that's a fixed rule, but actually you just discovered an exception to it.

You could maybe try wrapping it in a subhost, like Metaplugin or FL Minihost, or jbridge, see what happens.

I tried jbridge and no success.
Testing it in other hosts does not make sense to me as I will not work with them, anyway.
And I already know that it works fine in other hosts (even SF 11 Pro)
Well, thanks anyway guys!

If it works in SF11 but doesn't in SF10, then it's a no-brainer: upgrade !!!
And it confirms it is a problem in the host which is fixed in the next version.

So why not use SF11 instead??
