Embarrassed to ask, but the Synth1 filter cut off does not work for me. The 'tone' knob does work, however the 'frq' knob doesn't. What is going on?

because your filter .env. amount is at a maximum setting , and so is the filter env. sustain , which means your cutoff will be fully opened when you play a note

Yes at this screenshot, but this is not the patch I play. The patch I play it is set at 0. So I do no understand it.

Hi,
this patch works as expected on Synth1-VST V1.13 beta3 for windows.

I know that some users have problems with the AU version.

Post

Yes I have the 64 bit AU version.

The good thing is that filter cutoff is a negligible parameter anyway, hardly anyone ever uses it :hihi:

Did you read the installation instructions? There are some rather special things to mind, at least for the VST version, when you install Synth1. I'm not sure if these things are really THAT relevant, but at least you could check out, if you did as it is described there.

Thanks, I run the 64 bit AU version in Logic Pro X on a Mac Pro with OS X 10.11.6. For this case there are no installation instructions. Only the location where to put it.

It must have something to do with the fact that it is a 32/64 universal.

Can anyone running Logic Pro X confirm this is a bug as well? A shame cause I am happy with the sound.

Hi - just downloaded the latest AU from daichi's website, opened in Logic, default patch, dropped filter to 0, all works as expected.

With that in mind I would say that you are not experiencing a bug. Having said that, I would try the standard 'close your DAW and reopen' action to 'reset' some numbers somewhere.
Or just save and reload your project?

Like fluffy said, in a round-about way, if the filter cutoff didn't work in AU64 there would be a lot more complaints! Daichi would have fixed that loong ago.

Does that help?

Hmm ... I did a clean reinstall and now it works as expected. Strange.

edit: Nope, there seems to be a bug in the LP12 filter. The LP24 filter works as expected.

Well eff me in the round hole.. Synth1 was working fine on my MBP yesterday, now on bigMac (same level of OS) and the whole interface is completely screwed!

AU in Logic - Every knob I click on and my mouse jumps 6 inches up and right and the knobs all seem to be offset or something. Can't actually click on them
AU/VST in Live - Every knob I click on mouse jumps 6 inchees up BUT the slider pops up for the knob I touched, and I can adjust the value with that.. not ideal though..

Then I was able to test the LP12 - yup, it is definitely not working. On either machine, so it's not environmental..
On top of that, I am unable to select any of the parameters held in boxes only; LFO shapes, effect/delay/chorus types, wheel/midi source and targets, and if I want to load a patch, the floating soundbank window can't be closed.

I wonder if there's a way of getting hold of Mr Daichi?

Hi,

Synth1 64Bit V1.13 Beta 8 Sadly Is Completely f**ked Up On OSX. The LP12 / BP12 / HP12 Filter Do Not Work At All, Only In 32 Bit. Can You Please Fix It? Now For, I Recommend The Users To Strip Off The 64 Bit Binary Of The Universal Executable Go To Terminal:.

sudo -S
Cd /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Synth1.Vst/Contents/MacOS/
cp Synth1 Synth1_orig
Lipo x86_64 Synth1_orig -Output -Remove Synth1

Thank You!

So I guess he is aware of the filter problem, but hasn't yet got round to repairing it.
I added a bit of hopefully helpful mumblings regarding the other issues noted here - I do not expect a quick reply!
He _has_ been seen on KVR very occasionally, but that doesn't mean anything in the scheme of things.

OK so it is a bug, confirmed. Thank you for that. Hope he will fix it soon but I do not expect it. Shame cause I was rather happy with it.

If you have a synth controller, you might be able to REMAP the control change for the filter's controls in your vst host . Filters are funky / great ! Speak with your lips! :D
