Hello!!
My goal at this moment in time is to create songs with the same feel or vibes as Postal Service or Owlcity
Problem is i have no clue where to start. Problems in my confusion are the Beats and Melody
I don't know where to start and it has caused me great anxiety when i attempt to tackle it
I use Reaper along with a good set or plugins and i'm sure i have everything i need to get started (Including Melodyne trial)
Could someone maybe recommend me some tutorials that SHOW someone creating a song such as this?
Maybe some good resources ?
Anything would be helpful.
Thanks!!
How to tackle creating a synthpop kind of sound aka (Owlcity)

only heard that one track they had,
given the context of *where* i heard it, i relate it very much to ronnie martin's signature sound, ("joy electric") which is ~analog purism with simple pop settings.
JE's "melody" (album) and other albums of that time may give you a basis for composing something more complex. it's really just elementary, but you can see how r.m. developed this into a more overwhelming sound over time.
once you have some proficiency with rhythm, harmony/melody, and synths, it's not overwhelming
