Has anyone got the SRH-940s, had the headband crack? Replaced the headband?

It happened to mine after two and a half years of careful use and last week the seal and my options are a headband but that could split again or replacement for a 'discount' costing £174.

I've seen a few mods and am leaning towards that so wanted to know if anyone had done one? There's a few headband replacements that look good, this is the one i like: http://www.head-fi.org/t/613703/shure-s ... ervice/120

But is it fairly easy to do? I deally i want to just swap it out, not go craz like those head-fi'ers but i want a good fit for extended use. It's either that or get the Shure headband. Alternative is to get another pair of closed backs but the 940s have great resolution and their's nothing wrong with the housings.
