I can't wrap my head around this. I have several controls in Kontakt libraries that are perfectly reported to the DAW (Studio One and Live here). Everything is fine with those. Then there are some sliders and buttons (within those same libraries) whose midi data isn't sent to my DAW and thus cannot seem to be automated.
Is there any way to send the midi data to the DAW (Studio One macro knobs)?

It's VST parameter data actually, not MIDI, but more importantly it's up to the plugin maker (or Kontakt scripter in this case) to expose the parameters to the host for automation. Some parameters aren't too well suited for automation (would cause crackles or too high CPU for example), so it might be intentional. Or an oversight, in either case there's unfortunately nothing you can do about it. Mail the devs maybe.

If I understand correctly, you rather want midi from DAW to Kontakt... Some controllers in a Kontakt patch may be not automatable, automation may be disabled by the dev for whatever reason. Also, there are two kinds of buttons, one of which is not automatable. It's mostly up to the dev who scripted given patch.
