"RayBlaster2 is being developed. The upgrade will include LOTS of new features eg drag&drop modulation and add. presets. Backwards compatible."

From Tone2's official Twitter. Let's see if this goes better than when I brought up Sylenth1 V3.

Just saw this on Facebook:

"A part of our team is working on RayBlaster2. It will be released in 2017.
Version 2 will include a comfortable patch browser, drag&drop modulation, over 1000 patches, enhanced sound quality, extended sonic range and a large number of new features.
The upgrade, is 100% downward compatible. It will be free for all users who purchased RayBlaster in 2016 or 2017."

Yes that is cool of them. I imagine it won't be revolutionary, but I like RayBlaster and hope the upgrade price is reasonable.

Too bad there aint any Tone2 sales at the mo' to get Rayblaster v1 at a nice price

Normally it's $199 but I found it for $149 here

Unfortunately I purchased my copy in 2015, let's hope the upgrade is fairly priced.

Yeah I'm not sure what that means either. Tone 2 don't make synths that emulate analog hardware like Diva, or Monark...well maybe Saurus tries to but, that's kind of missing the point. I think of their synths more in terms of making 24 bit music in the 21st century. They sound big, and offer a lot in terms of flexibity, and modulation. They don't worry about sounding analog. They worry about synths that sound good, whIle not killing your computer

I actually completely agree with you here. They are able to make huge sounding synths that are not necessarily trying to copy the older analogues. They sound modern, fresh and still have areal warmth about them. Glad you reminded me to revisit them after spending too much time immersed in newer toys.

to me it's quite obvious. there are synths that, when you make them growl a bit, sound like scratching a rough plastic surface, others sound like scratching rough metal.

With what to scratch the plastic? And what kind of plastic?? Care to post an audio example of the plastic vs. the metal sound??
