There are a few virtual audio devices out there, which is what you'd need. Cant remember which others might have VST plugin support but this one does;

I use the free version of VB Cable: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm
and SAVIHost: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
I use it to run Mellowmuse's EQ1A equalizer on my audio outputs when I'm using my crappy Logitech speakers (they're actually really good for the price I paid but lousy for mixing obviously) - I've tried SAVIHost with Toneboosters Morphit with my headphones and it works very nicely.

Go to your Playback Devices in the Windows Sound prefs and set the VB Cable input as your default playback device then use that as an input for SAVIHost (Devices/WAV) with High Definition Audio (or whatever your usual output is) as the output.Elektronisch wrote:How does VB cable work? it seems the meters showing sound comming in and out but i cant find a setting where i set the soundcard to use. I created a shortcut to SAVIHost including the plugin .dll like this:AegisPrime wrote:Go to your Playback Devices in the Windows Sound prefs and set the VB Cable input as your default playback device then use that as an input for SAVIHost (Devices/WAV) with High Definition Audio (or whatever your usual output is) as the output.Elektronisch wrote:How does VB cable work? it seems the meters showing sound comming in and out but i cant find a setting where i set the soundcard to use. D:\Applications\SAVIHost\savihost_x64.exe "D:\Applications\SAVIHost\EQ1A.dll" /nomidi
And placed it in:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
So that it runs automatically on boot. You'll need to tinker with the VB Cable prefs and SAVIHost to get the right sample-rate (I run those and the Windows HD Audio out at 48k).

The disadvantage of the (admittedly simpler) DDMF solution is that is only runs in 16-bit/44100.
