First I loaded the lovely Scarbee rhodes into Halion in V-stack. I added some nice effects (rev, phaser, camelphat)and saved the setup as an .all file within V-stack so I could open it up in one shot.
Then I wanted to copy the same setup within Nuendo,so I simply opened the aforementioned .all file from within Nuendo. My sweet rhodes setup loaded and played just like in Vstack with Halion running thru the three effects like I had set them.
Then I loaded a vst drum session (also a .all file)in a new project (can I merge a song into a song?) and loaded halion and my effects again from scratch, but I cannot figure out how to route Halion to them. Being a midi channel, only the midi fx show up in the send drop-down window.
I reloaded the previous setup (from Vstack)in Nuendo again and although it loads perfectly, and plays great, I can no longer control the fx level on the rhodes. It is routed, but in a kind of built in way that I can't see how to emulate or access.....
So.......I would basicly like to know how to add an non-midi effect on a vsti so I can play it live and not wait till I render a wave....

Help plz :help:

Cubase VST and SX2 allow the "channel settings" to be saved as a VMX file and opened in another project. Nuendo probably has a similar function.

In SX2 (and probably Nuendo) just open the VST Channel (find the VST channel in the main mixer) then right-click on the channel and choose "Save selected channels".

You can use this, as well as copying/pasting tracks between projects to speed up the manual merge process.

Open the main mixer. Make sure the VST channels are not hidden. Find the VST channel for the instrument (there may be more than one for Halion). Click the "e" button on the channel to open the channel settings. That should show all the effects assignments for that output of that instrument.

When I load the saved vmx files, does it open the vsti and fx automatically?

It doesn't load the VSTi (because it can be applied to audio or VSTi channels) but it loads the insert effects and EQ. (I don't think it loads the sends :? )
