I Ihave always used Sony SoundForge on my PC with excelent result, then moved to MAC and bought the MAC crossgrade...the problem is that on MAC SOundForge is terribly slow, crashes often and is nearly unusable...
I am planning on replacing it with a similar Audio Editor (able to do looping, adjust volume, using AU/VSt plugs, fade-outs , envelope curves and so on...) to cut samples
What would you people recommend? I dont mind if it's payware (unless it costs 1000Euros of course) or free, the important is the features...

Although there is now a version of Steinberg Wavelab for the Mac (And Wavelab Elements may probably be enpough for you, since you were using Sound Forge Mac, which is very poor in features), I would advise DSP Quattro - http://www.dsp-quattro.com/dspquattro/S ... attro.html. It's really cheap, and it's my favourite, now that BIAS Peak is no more.

Another option may be Triumph, from Audiofile Engineeering, but i sincerely can't get into its layer workflow

Hey I have an excellent recommendation for a Mac wave editor. it has a demo and it costs around $70 something dollars. For the features you get it's almost as feature filled as Sound Forge Pro. The wave editor homepage is www.twistedwave.com. Twisted Wave is in version 1.17.3. Don't be deceived by the cheap price. It has really good typed in multi voice voice synthesis/pitch shifting/batch conversion and multi fx non destructive editing. Also it has a form of multi channel editing but I don't use it. You can save your multi fx chains as custom presets so Twisted Wave is good for mastering. Check it out.

thanks for all the inputs. My Last effort will be using SoundForge 10 for PC on Mac using Parallels. If it behaves decently I wil keep it otherwise sell it...

So, you probably has the solution in-house, and you didn't notice

How come that you have DSP Quattro and was using Sound Forge? Give it a chance, and I think you'll be surprised. It's very full-featured.

I have too much software on my hands

I bought DSP-Quattro on sale only ro create DDP files, and I rarley use it for other puroposes ...

Yes, I mentioned it, although, personally, I never got into that layers workflow. Too much used to the paradigm that started with Sound Designer/ Alchemy. That's why (that and all the other editing features) that I miss Peak so much.

A good Audio Editor for MAC?
