MIDI over Wifi Blue Screen problems.

Hi Everyone.

Thought I might bring up something to both inform and maybe seek answers regarding the use of Touch OSC and Konkreet Performer on an iPad Air with the midi over wifi protocol. (RPT midi)

After many weeks of tinkering in the past trying to get Touch OSC to work, I eventually realised that iTunes Bonjour needed to be installed along with other midi over wifi software in order for it to work. In short it workerd, at least for a while and I was able to get Konkreet performer up and running as well.

Then I started to get conflicts on my Windows 10 pc ending in BS shut downs. After a few days of back tracking to see if I had a fault in other areas of the PC such as USB pcie cards etc. I started to un install the components of the software involved in midi over wifi control protocol.

Result: Indeed, it seems as though one or more of the components in that software list was to blame possibly even Bonjour itself but since un installing these pesky items, all stability in my system is restored, and has been for a month or more and it continues to perform well.

Any thoughts as to what this might be caused by would be helpful, but for now this post I hope is helpful in diagnosis if your having random BSOD and can't see a hardware reason, check your program manager and see if RPT midi is installed I found I had to halt its operation before I un installed it, and even then it was tough to get rid of.

But I'm stable so, you can imagine I'm happy.

wifi isnt realtime so not good for low latency audio
