Hey all,

I am hoping to get some honest feedback on a personal project I have been working on for a while now. I think there are some people here who might have some interest or thoughts on it.

My invention, called MUROKO, reuses items we once cherished and still hang on to, but no longer use: CD cases. You can use the MUROKO snap widgets with CD cases to make three dimensional wall decorations. You could even use them simply to display your favorite music CD covers as nostalgic wall art. My goal with the project was to create an exchangeable wall decoration while extending the life cycle of CDs by repurposing them to prevent their disposal.

What do you think of it? How would you personally use it? Is there anything you don’t like about it?

I appreciate you taking the time to tell me what you think! If you would like to see more of it, visit https://business.facebook.com/muroko.wa ... 3189582728 (https://business.facebook.com/muroko.wallart/?business_id=142623189582728)

Avsha

Neat idea, to say the least. I'd imagine many proud music enthusiasts would be all for this, for instance displaying some of their all-time favorite albums in this way.
My solo projects:
Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

Pointless.

I wouldn't stick CD cases to my walls in any shape or form. If I was going to display music it'd be 12" sleeves, and even then I haven't done that since 1990.
Is there anything you don’t like about it?
It's dated and tacky. CD jewel cases aren't the most glamorous of things so why would anyone in their right mind want a shitload of them stuck to their walls on a flimsy plastic rack?

at least I'm being honest.

Good luck with it though, it'd be great to be proven wrong.

How you bring them on the wall?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

First, thanks for all your reviews. It's very valuable to my research.

Obviously, CDs are not relevant today, and maybe even kitschy looking.
If you don't keep them stored, you might still have them at your parents place or something like that.
I don't know a lot of people who decided to throw them away.
So I ask here, why do we still keep them? If they still have value, but what is it exactly?

If choosing only 10-15 most loved albums as a music self portrait to showcase, do you think it could actually be aesthetically valuable to you?

Thanks
Avsha.
