Was wondering you guys think out of all the one's that have a DAW (presonus, motu, steinberg). Not really a a DAW, but NI and akai are beefing up their sequencers. Who do you feel has the best hardware/software integration? Not only that good drivers on the hardware, and stable drivers etc. Who and why?

My motu 828x is terrible on my pc, but on my MacBook Pro it works great. Daw works well on both no issues to report - S1v3…

Post

Ableton with Push and Ni with maschine.

MOTU isn't known for their driver coding.

Actually, MOTU is widely considered to have some of the most solid drivers in the industry.

Not in my (and many others) experience!

MOTU on pc has to be one of the most least stable interfaces I ever experienced, and I have used a bunch of different their cards over the years.

Even on Mac I have to say I encountered some things that made me wonder what the hell they were smoking.
(back then there was a crazy bug on more than one of my friends utralites, where suddenly the headphone output would jump to max volume for no reason. One of my mates actually felt like it did may have done permanent hearing damage.... so that was the last time i ever even considered using a MOTU sound card.)

Not trying to bash MOTU, but this was my experience(s)... after all that I went RME and it was like a world of difference.

Yeah I've never heard that particular viewpoint before. I switched to RME years ago (after getting fed up with Motu) and I've never had an issue with their Babyface, Babyface Pro, Fireface 800, and Fireface UFX drivers on multiple systems.

Yep RME is the best making drivers.

Another vote for RME. Being a happy RME customer for almost two decades. I would not even consider buying a different brand when it comes to audio interfaces.

In fact, it seems the latest KVR bashing has been the only negative things I've ever read about them.
BTW, I've used a MOTU 24IO with PC for years now. Very stable and quite dependable.

Then clearly you must be new to forums as it's been on the following forums for many years (off the top of my head):

KVR
gearslutz
motunation
cockos
homerecording.com
Ableton
dogsonacid
arstechnica
muffwiggler
recording.org
cakewalk.com
sweetwater

But yeah, other than that, I don't see any complaints.

I'm only on five of those forums. Of course I would imagine if you had problems you will see everyone else having them too. Since I haven't, maybe I see the good comments where I've been for the same reason?
