sample plays after a count down timer period then resets and repeats?

Looking to do this on multiple tracks. Not a clue how to do this.

You can do this easily in Ableton Live (and its copycats, I assume), you set a empty Clip without audio (the "countdown timer") that will "play" w/ no sound, looping if necessary, until the time you set it to go to the next Clip w/ the actual audio sample.
It can be set to loop just the later Clip, or the sequence with both, or random (or trigger them manually). The Clips and looping can be set to last how long you want them to.

Shame I`ll need a whole workstation to do just this.
Time to get started!
