My Mac Book Pro broke and I bought a new one, reinstalled from Time Machine and also upgraded to latest macOS. Reautorizing all plugins is always a bit of a hassle but in the case of Expert Sleepers License Manager it was completely unacceptable.

In the case of Arturia, Native Instruments or Korg I had to spend like ten minutes each reautorizing plugins and get everything up and running but in the case of Expert Sleepers I had to spend hours. Although following the instrucions on Mac OS X troubleshooting (found here http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/licencemanager.html) I could not get the plugins activated when opened in Logic X. Also, many of the files mentioned in this troubleshooting guide are not even present and in one case the location (Mindvision) is not correct.

I had situations where some plugins got activated and some not and then when closing Logic and opening the same project again suddenly none was activated.

I kept repeating the instructions and finally got everything up and running (hope it doesn't break down) but this is really not good enough. I realize Expert Sleepers focus is more on hardware nowdays but in that case I believe it's time to simplify license managing so it works like Audio Damage (extremely simple license managing) or other small size plugin makers. Having a big license managing system that doesn't work and forcing the user to trash preference files all over the system is really bad usability.

Regardless, I love Expert Sleepers but please don't make me suffer like this next time my computer breaks.
