why is it that listening to covers is always like trying to make a home made hamburger taste like one from McDonalds.
this was not bad, howerver... could have been worse!

Ah, I didn't take anything for granted; the layzer might have just been layzy. Well, then, cheers. I was actually about to throw in the towel on mixing, after all these years and all this gear, and just concentrate on what I struggle less with, i.e. ripping off other people's songs

i hear ya! how does that saying go? good artists copy, great artists steal?

And actually, listening again, i think the volume on it is kind of low, but it suits the style. so no biggie:tu:

Aha ... that's quite useful. Low overall, or rather a partcicular section or part? If the former, that's because I've heard over and over, "Leave lots of headroom on the 2buss!" I think the peak was something like -10 db. I could crank it a bit and then limit I suppose, though I'm wary of squashing it. I'll mess around. Thanks.
