I think I would pick Supergrass or Ash something like that.
But I didn't follow music to closely during the mid- to late 90's, so tips to any good bands would be appreciated.

Pulp/Jarvis Cocker was so prolific that even managed to score a Smash Hits cover

By that time (late '95), quite a feat!

I also like Therapy?
But as I understand they are a "child" of the new wave of new wave (as the music press called it), rather than BritPop

I was a fan of Lush, Blur, and The Charlatans (Charlatans UK, as they were known here in the US) back in the day, but not sure which one was my favorite.

Early Stones and Kinks, but my definition of "BritPop" is somewhat eccentric and superannuated. (Or was it "fscking weird and prehistoric"?)
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Troublegum is, IMO, one of the best albums ever made.Numanoid wrote:I also like Therapy?

Absolutely - and also the album which the band was touring when I unwittingly managed to be the first person crowd-surfing at one of their gigs when I was 14.
(Unwittingly 'cos an unknown lad next to me gestured by cupping his hands for me to give him a leg up, I thought he was joking, put my foot in his hand and he flipped me up... excellent buzz up there on my own, and not too many punches in the bollocks either at Nottingham Rock City, but it all got a bit concerning when the 6 bouncers at the front started beckoning me towards them to be the first one swung through the barriers that evening...)
I digress.
Some excellent bands, and it's hard to see past Blur as my favourite, but I'll say Elastica just for that one great album they did:
