WTF is up with TV producers NOT crediting songs and artists used in episodes?

In an episode of "Sense8", the Wachowskis used an EDM remix of Four Non-Blondes' "What's Up" as the song that ******** *** *** "********" ** *********. But there was no credit for the song at the end of the episode. It was the soundtrack to a dramatic high point of the episode and framed an important plot turn for the whole series.

TV shows have stopped crediting songs that they use. They used to appear at the end of the credits, like they do in movies. Since they are usually versions, it takes a serious Internets search to find out who did the version. (In the case above, the actual credits for the remix appear nowhere we can find. YouTube has a truncuated version with the attribution "Riley's Remix" - Riley being the female DJ character in "Sense8".)

Don't the music licensing companies REQUIRE needledropping producers to credit the artist? If they use another sappy degenarate cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", shouldn't Cohen get a credit?

Check me on this - I could be wrong. But I've been doing a lot of web searching on this subject for awhile now in a lot of instances and I think I am right.

Isn't this a contractual matter?
