Any libraries with sizzle cymbals?

So far the only one I've encountered to have sizzle cymbals is Americana EZX and honestly I don't find it impressive in particular compared to BFD3 core library (based on what I hear from the demos) and i don't think it's worth to get into Toontrack products just for that.
Are there any others? I really want one for current project I'm working on and I've been searching for something for couple years now and it really seems like there is nothing decent that actually sounds like well riveted cymbal with a very, very long decay.
I'd also be even more happy if there was something that has riveted cymbals with brush articulations, but I'm gonna guess I'd be crazy to think something like that would ever exist.

Wow, you are correct! I had no idea about that (I did look through some of BFD expansions but there's just so many of them). I wonder is there any kind of demos of these cymbals in particular? Quick googling didn't get me too far, I'm afraidjancivil wrote:BFD Jazz 'n Funk.
There are three: Wuhan 18" & 20" Chinas; Sabian 18" Ride.
all have brush and stick artics
Oh and also, thank you

in particular those cymbals, I don't know. I believe there's demos by John Emerich for it in general at Youtube.
this
has the Sabian a few times. pretty far right channel, it happens very soon in the track, it's obvious.
I use that library one hell of a lot. you've likely seen the articulations pdf by now.

Yeah I saw the demo. Sadly can't remember to hear any riveted cymbals in meaningful way there. With that being said...jancivil wrote:in particular those cymbals, I don't know. I believe there's demos by John Emerich for it in general at Youtube.
Yeah that sounds fantastic! The actual specific wish I have is for 20 Zildjian with 6 rivets (since I grew up kind of with that specific tone), but this is still great and I can definitively work with that. Seems to me kind of odd that riveted cymbals are these days such a rare gaze outside of jazz (I guess even there in comparison to how it used to be). Heck, I'd get some myself eventually if recording drums in my apartment wouldn't be such a nightmarejancivil wrote: [...] has the Sabian a few times. pretty far right channel, it happens very soon in the track, it's obvious.

I guess it has to do with people who don't want to drill holes in expensive cymbals to get specific tone.
Regarding the articulations, yeah I saw the pdf. In general it's actually impressive package considering the price. Although I must say, brushes are more for future since I haven't yet learned to program with them as well as with sticks or even mallets. But yeah seems like definitively good package overall.
My only concern is: how well does it integrate with BDF3? I've read about issues people had (not with this particular expansion though) where they get odd anomalies when they use expansions that were meant for BDF1 or BDF2 in BDF3

The Sabian 18" has a deep sound. I don't recall getting the other two out for anything.
That's the brush artic in that track.
I recall someone here having all these problems with BFD2 things in BFD3. I don't, at all.
You have to install the things just so and it's not something to fug around with later, moving it.
I didn't have this on this MB Pro but I decided to download it today.

So, does the world need more samples of riveted or sizzle cymbals? I got a couple of Paiste ones thrown in (plus a hi-hat that seems to have been hand-hammered a bit too much so it sounds more like a cowbell open) with a Soviet-made drum kit I picked up to sample. I don't mind recording an interesting drum or two just for the hell of it, but cymbals ring so damn long it's a big time investment to sample them with any decent degree of detail.

ns_kit7 has a sizzle. 19" sizzle ride. Stick, brush, mallet and hand samples, up to seven articulations (stickings), up to 45 velocities. (That's the one cymbals, yes.)
Native Instruments Abbey Road Early 60s has one too.
The world needs far more well sampled, playable cymbals. I need far more RAM. 32Gb is not enough... You know this

Just in case anybody digs up this thread in a search years from now, looking for sizzle cymbals, I did sample those two cymbals with bow, edge and bell hits plus chokes, mallet hits and brush hits (one location each): https://www.karoryfer.com/karoryfer-sam ... usty-drums
They probably weren't Paiste, though, just totally mysterious unlabeled cymbals. The hi-hat and a badly cracked crash were cheap German Paistes from the early 90s, but the 19" and 17" riveted cymbals... no labels or stamps or anything. They sound good, though, definitely worth sampling.
