Anybody running FLS on laptop?

I just got my new laptop and having this weird problem. Already posted it on Looptalk since yesterday, but nobody replied there. So, maybe I can get a faster response here.

So, I have 15" SXGA+ screen and ATI Radeon 9600 Mobile video card (64MB ram) and running on 1400x1050 resolution. The problem is that with a some of the plugins I get an oversized Fruity Wrapper window like this
Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Is this a common thing? I tried to lower the resolution, but that wrapper windows just gets scaled down while still being oversized

Can aybody help me?

I think I'd actually prefer that.

In FLS Reaktor only comes up about 2/3 size and the window doesn't resize.

I already tried all of these resolutions, and its still has this problem. Also, I even installed a new beta wrapper from Image Line (the one with a buffer size improvement). Nothing helps

If you guys running FLS v4.5.2 on your laptop without this problem, what video card and resolution do you have?

Running 1600x1200 32gazillion colors, on Dell Inspriron 8200 with geforce4 440 chip, works like a charm, wrapper windows fit perfectly in FL studio.

Be interesting to see how much help Image line is on this for you as this would seem to be an FL Studio bug.

I just realized that only DXi plugins have this problem. All VSTi versions of the same plugins, as well as other VSTi plugins positioned fine inside of Fruity Wrapper. Since, I have the brand new laptop with WinXP Pro, I assume it has the latest DirectX there. Maybe something got changed or I need to re-install DirectX drivers. I'm curious myself to see the reply of FLS techsupport.

If you have a choice of VST and Dxi in FL studio- USE VST!!! The Dxi implementation is less than perfect.

That's what I'm doing right now I'm sure IL Team can resolve this problem, but one of their guys who coded the wrapper (Reflex) is on vacation for 2 weeks. So, I will have to wait. The reason why I had original concern because this is a brand new laptop and I wanted to make sure its not a problem with ATI Radeon 9600 video card.

BTW, I'm very impressed with its Pentium Centrino M1.7GHz (new Dothan 735 with 2MB L2 cache). From all the benchmark test I ran, its performance is on the same level as P4 3.0GHz. Plus, it runs wisper quiet, super cool, and the new IBM's 15" Flexview screen is very bright and crisp.

that is one of those bugs that fl have,but dont worry. i also have that problem in my pc,it seems to be a syncro problem of the wrapper,and is not a NI problem.i have a centrino at 1.7ghz with an ati radeon 9800 and i also have those called bugs

but this is easily avoided by using the (better in FL)vst versions..

This has always seemed a plugin problem to me. I checked it from the FL side of things a few times and I always get the window size that you see on the screen (i.e. too big).

DXi window sizes are a bit difficult sometimes. Check Sonar (the DXi standard, in a way), it provides resizeable windows for DXi plugins, even though the DXi editors themselves can't be resized at all.

And as some other people said, use the VST version of a plugin in FL rather than the DX version, if possible. There's a better chance that it'll work well.
