There is a fire whip swoosh that it ALWAYS used in Hollywood production. I don't even think it is a sampled fire but rather some kind of synth.

Will try to look for youtube clip with it in.

I see ~450 whip sounds and ~2800 fire sounds on freesound.org

Fire whip is essentially just a clever combination of fire + whip, right? Maybe with some filter automation and some white/brown noise reinforcement?

I know what fire sounds like, what whips sound like, and what swooshes sound like. And what fire swooshes might be, and what whip swooshes might be. And Ive seen a lot of Hollywood productions...

However, I have zero idea what a fire whip swoosh is supposed to be. Whips and fire dont sound similar, nor, IMO, do any swooshes that might derive. And I cant really imagine how you whip fire, or who wields a whip that's on fire, so... drawing a blank on source material or context.

More info about what where one might actually hear such a 'fire whip swoosh' since you make it sound like they happen a lot?

I've heard that noise alright. It does not sound like fire, but is used to declare that inflammable substances have just caught fire rapidly.

Bet it's used in the X-Files episode Fire.

Holy crapola, Indiana Jones... it's an actual bullwhip set on fire!

Have to say I've never seen such a thing, nor could I imagine why one might undertake such a venture.

So... the whip crack you can get on freesound or similar... look for "bull whip"... the fire swoosh is pretty cool, and that should be dead easy to synthesize if you have a noise knob and capable filter...

Hmmm. Even having watched several youtube videos now of what's basically 'whip on fire' I still have no context for hearing that combined sound being used in a film. However, as kbacci basically says, these sounds are exactly the same as whipcrack+fire swoosh.
