I'm looking for drum kits sounding similar like the 909 but more "modern" brighter and in your face. Any suggestions?

You should look for Jomox AirBase or Jomox drum machines drum samples. Airbase is their 909 emulation but more versatile and yes very in your face sound. Usually Jomox machines are know to jump out of mixes. I had Airbase and it really is great. Jomox samples tend to be like that , modern, brighter so start there.
