Hello,

I have a FOCUSRITE SCARLETT 6I6 attached to a PC using Windows 8.1/64bit - upgraded from 7/64bit just to get rid of some issues which unfortunately just don't disappeared ... without any success.

So, using my MOX8, the signal must be always "Hi Gain", boosted using this buggy-popping Scarlett MixControl, else the signal is very low (and I have +6db on MOX8 already). If I let the "Hi Gain" up, during a recording session or mixing, right after the MOX8 is turned off, a strange continuously whizzing sound starts and it stops when the input is muted or I switch back to "Lo Gain" (lower whizzing but it's there); even so, it can be heard in the records(!). So, it's kinda painful. I have changed the cables, power sources, location, I added some induction coil on the wires ...

I recorded the noise and normalized ...

Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!

One more thing: I have the same issues when GAIN 1 (mic) or GAIN 2 (guitar) are connected. So, I need to mute all the inputs to get rid of the whizzing sound. But, I cannot activate the inputs during a record because of "well-known" pops and blips ...

The problem is in your computer, motherboard, not cables.
I have a similar problem with my Alesis, the noise differs from yours, it's like CPU chirping. Again, it's PC, not audio interface.
However, in my case the noise is very low and can be eliminated with a simple noise removing by capturing noise footprint and it doesn't affect the quality of recorded audio, that's why I didn't even bother with dismantling my computer to fix the problem entirely.

You have a static noise or more precisely ground loop audio interference and it's obvious that it comes from your motherboard.
A friend of mine had similar problem, he was pulling his hear out for days, he changed all the cables, he was taking my guitar and microphone to test things, he was going nuts and he fixed the problem by accident when he placed his audio interface 2-3 meters away from PC, actually his monitor. The most stupid thing ever. That worked for him.
But, many other people needed to dismantle their PC's and to fix ground loop problem within their PC's.

There is plenty of stuff to read and to figure out what the problem actually is, like this article here:
