I'm wondering what everybody thinks are the best all-time classic sample libraries

Prepare for a very long list, and mostly listing what folks have. I have tons and could be objective to some extent but... Do you have something specific in mind (orchestral, guitar, synth, vocal, choir, bass, drum, fx, cinematic, etc.)? That would help.

Whichever ones help you get your music done. It's like asking what the best car is; the one I've got the keys to is the best one for me.
That said, Orchestral Tools would get all my money if I had the right rig (and the right gigs).

I can highly recommend the Platinum Loop Collection by Secret Ninja Loops.

This thread is a joke right?
Why not just rename it "Could we create a giant thread listing every sample library that's ever been released?"
Without being more specific or asking specific questions, this subject is far too broad to be interesting or useful.

not really... there's alot of really bad samples out there. I got a hihat library for example that had something like 500 different hats... most of them were doubles, triples, etc, just named differently, but the wav files were the same to the sample. Also there's quality to think about.mholloway wrote:This thread is a joke right?

Often when looking for something like a piano, lots of different tonal characteristics even before you start thinking about capture quality. I was looking for cellos a while back and only CosmoD's aggressive library would do.
I think its a valid thread simply asking what are your best quality samples...
Heavyocity - intensely well captured/processed sounds. They do for drums what Vienna does for strings.
Soundiron
Addictive Drums especially for hihats.
