Unusual for me I've recently tried to make som techno tunes. I've become fashinated by the idea of crating emotions not by harmonies and melodies but , instead, by playing around with sounds and rhythmics.

Anyway - I would like to know what you have to say about space/breaks in such music.
Here's my question:
How and where would you place a space/break in the "4 on thke floor" kick beat ?
For example: Would you silence the kick on the whole last bar in a 16/32 bar range ? Or maybe, as I've done in teh track above, silence it on the 4th beat of the 15/31 bar plus the whole last (16/32) bar ?
Or maybe silence only the last 2 or 3 beats of teh last bar? Or maybe having it silenced somewhere but then put it back again on the 4th beat of teh last bar.
In other words - exactly how would you make a break/air/silence in a techno tune ?
Have you got some examples of what you feel is a rhythmically good break ?
Maybe it's because I've not listened to enough techno music. But I've found making rhythmically good braks surprisingly difficult. Evne though it somewhat sounds very simple.
So I could need some expert advices fomr you guys !
