HI,

I need a good harmonizer plugin, mainly for adding to the vocal tracks and violin.
Any suggestions guys??

I like Akai Pro's DecaBuddy VST. Not sure if it's still being made or sold, though. If it is, it's very smooth and natural sounding compared to some I've heard.

Glad to hear that. IIRC there was a downloadable 30-day demo version on the Japanese website. Their American site might not have it, but if you email their contact person you should get a link for downloading it. I was impressed enough to buy DecaBuddy and the D.C. Vocoder. There are three other plug-ins in the series: a Leslie-style rotary speaker sim, a 4-band compressor, and another that slipped my mind.

P.S.: I looked it up -- the fifth Akai Pro VST is a simple real-time pitch corrector. Couldn't find a download link for demo though. :-(

I bought Discord when I was looking for a harmonising plugin. It was fantastic in it's own way but not really what I was looking for. Which was mainly an effect to do harmony guitars etc. Is Discord a harmoniser or something different?

Yeah, i saw imogen heap on tv a few weeks ago and was reminded that theres still no good vst intelligent harmonizers.

theres lots of parallel harmonizers and lots of doublers but it seems after decabuddy, which is a pretty good intelligent harmonizer that can load harmony maps, everyone gave up on coding one.

unless i missed something?

yeah since then I bought Choir Boy and I love it...
