I should be able to attach this as rider on my home insurance, but when I mentioned software, my State Farm rep was all - duh? herp derp.

They they say they do specifically cover software.

I've used MusicPro Insurance for the last 15 years or so. Never had to make a claim, but it brought peace of mind - especially when I did a LOT of urban freelance bass gigs (sometimes needing to leave my upright bass and amp in the car for an hour when getting a bite to eat). They do cover computer expenses including software, but other than programs only available on a hard disk/DVD that seems less an issue these days.
