I have a laptop and an old digitech midi foot controller. I'm in a 4 piece band, and would like to use this setup to play samples and sound effects by assigning sounds to each of the buttons on the foot controller. An example would be "Jump Around" by House of Pain. I would like to hit a button and that high pitch sound plays. What is the simplest midi compatible software I can use to make that happen and also be able to download samples? I have a Windows based laptop.
I hope this question was not already asked.
Thanks
Question - Probably a simple one

What's the exact model name of your midi foot controller? Just so we can have a look at what it's capabilities really are...
You might need some sort of translation software that makes note-on message from the button presses (probably sending only program-change messages)

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
