Live won't enumerate all inputs in an OS X aggregate device when there's an odd number

Why is it always something??? I'm happier with Live than just about anything else, but I wanted to double-track using a Marshall CODE 50's USB output and a direct signal for later use if I want to re-amp. Mac OS X allowed me to create an aggregate device with my Focusrite 2i4 which results in three inputs and four outputs.

Every program I've tried except for Live will allow you to use any of the three inputs. I guess because Live expects a stereo pairs or just even numbers, it just ignores the third input.

Even worse, I see a complaint about something similar from four years ago, and the problem still exists. Anyone aware of a workaround? If I had another single input interface, I'd try adding that. If anyone has tried that, please let me know.

I'm assuming you do have the third input activated, right? The third input simply doesn't show up at all? (I'd love to try it, but I can't find a way to make 3 midi inputs.)

No, the third input doesn't show up when there are only three. Only one pair show up. However! If I plug in a USB mic with only one input, to make a total of four inputs, then Live will show the mic and the CODE as a second pair of inputs and I can select them. Not ideal, but git er' done. ;-) Now I can get back to the recording that was so rudely disturbed by this phenomenon.
