Do DJ's not play those kinda trax where you are then?InfamousLight wrote:Please DO NOT send in breakbeat, dnb, hip hop, or ambient remixes.
You are advised to make your mixes "dj friendly".

Sure.
However this label does not release music of those style. We more into the techno/house thing. If we are going to make the winning remixes part of the official release, it makes sense that the remix is vaguely appropriate for the label - don't you think?

This is very odd.

Actually, the problem I have with this (and it might just be me reading the very obscure ownership rules incorrectly) is that you lose all rights to your music after having it submitted. Meaning you could not broadcast it, sell it, give it away or anything. In fact Infamous light could collect all these re-mixes, choose the best and release on a label and you, as the remixer, would not be entitled to any credit or money.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing you of anything, as I said I don't really understand what the ownership rules are trying to say.. I'm sure your intentions are noble,... but with rules written like this I just get put off.

Sounds to me like a contest to promote the original writer of the track. Right, you get you track released in whatever label or site but you don't own the rights to the tracks.
I'd rather do a Kriminal remix and promote him instead.
No thanks.
