To follow the line of the Sonar drama and the saying: "1 door closed, another 100 open up"
like in the thread about free new daw Soundbridge
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=496125
I`m personally just happy to see daws remain competitive:

on a forum reply creator Bob Lentini informed users Sawstudio goes 64bit
http://www.sawstudiouser.com/forums/sho ... ned-to-SAC

I think it had a good amount of fans, praising the quality of the 32bit version
so it came to my mind to share a potential candidate for the "another 100 open up".

Could be of interest to have a KVR thread about progression ...

Is there any modern 2017 update on the 1995 graphic user interface ?

Here's the GUI redesign I did 3 years ago with Reason, so I thought I'd ask. :hihi:

I managed to fix up Studio One's interface which is just too flat for my liking, as shown in this video. I'd have a hard time trying to do the same with Saw Studio I think. :D

Or any update on the ludicrous price-tag

They should start with small steps, like upgrading their website to modern standards:

A Flash Player upgrade is needed to view this site. Click here to upgrade now.

Great. When are they planning to make it a viable DAW instead of just being a ridiculous ripoff?

It's a one man project written in assembly language. Don't expect it to keep up with the times.

Yeah, so bringing that to 64bit will be quite a huge task I guess.

Doesn't inspire much confidence in saw studio when you go to the page, click on the store link and the page you end up on has a banner saying the domain is for sale.
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

The website is currently being redone. You can contact the author directly for purchases currently.

Bob couldn't care less about the daw wars or what most people think about SAW, he just makes the product for people that like using it and pretty much ignores everyone else. :) I recall at one point he closed the user forum there because it was overrun by trolls whining about why it doesn't look like Cubase or whatever... when they weren't going to buy it anyway.

As ugly as it is (subjectively speaking, UI wise) that thing runs like the wind audio engine wise.

Post

I've used it on couple of projects and I agree it's probably fastest and most stable DAW on the market..
It's fully written in assembler which is actually pretty incredible to make it even like this..Assembler is lowest level programming language so the communication of interface with hardware is super fast and stable.

The only issue is that this costs 4 times as much as Cubase.... and Cubase already is expensive.

Sometimes i don't understand devs. The guy can surely not live from this, and why spend a lot of your free time on something you know very few people will use anyway? He could just make this freeware then. I'll be honest, the way SAW Studio looks, and the way it is developed, it rather seems like a joke than a serious program.

P.S.: An even bigger joke is that the "shop" link leads to a domain which is for sale. Seriously, guy gotta be kidding.
