Getting an Orchestral library to sound sharper with better attack (e.g. Albion One)...?

I've had Albion One now for a few months and am enjoying it.
Its a wonderful library and really fun to use.

However, I find it sometimes a bit "muddy" and heavier on the bass side of things, at the expense of times when I want the instruments to be more "punchy" and sharper, e.g. higher strings and brass.

I do play with the mic positions etc, but if I bring the close-mics too far in, the instrument loses its place in the mix - it comes too far to the front , if you know what I am saying.

I tried adding EQ to it and that helps a little, and layering it with the Kontakt5 instruments but still not getting a sound I am 100% happy with. I added the OTT compressor/limiter to it and that does deliver a punchiness if I turn up the highs, but it can distort the sound a little.

Any ideas ?
