Hi,
I want to start a thread to just discuss the sound of the new Korg Collection Odyssey and it's interface -
how it compares with Oddity 2, or if you have one, a vintage Odyssey or the new Korg Odyssey Synthesizer.
There are also Arp 2600 emulations worth mentioning.
So for those who have bought it... lets hear your thoughts on how it sounds...

Hi
Looks ok and sounds great .
I am learning how to program sounds ,but I cannot find the Arpegiator on this new Vst for Windows.
It shows In the manual ,but does not explain how to access It.
Well, I have not found a way yet as I am learning .
How do those sliders move on their own to make a moving sound ?? must be the Arp section. sequencing.
Finding this Appegiator section is a pain, I have clicked all knos and panels that I could find.No Arp section yet

Hi HR
I have brought the Vst up on my standalone and In Cubase
What I see at the top is three boxes on the right at the top
1 -- main screen
2--- main screen and keyboard
3--- main screen keyboard effect section
That is it
There should be a Arp box on the top right as shown on some photos.Maybe only on Macor APPs for androids.
If you look at the Korg advert It shows the same as mine.
Something is not quite right here i think.
I may have to contact Korg.
All the best
John

Beside that Korg synth sound much better......for me at least and the GUI (even if they might too small) looks MUCH better.egbert101 wrote:I can only give my impression of Oddity 2, and it sounds gorgeous. Since I own that, I see no reason to own the Korg version.

Am I missing something on the Latest Korg Arp Oddessy??
Is It me , Is It a Bug or is it because there Is a different way to program It??

I'm using Logic Pro X on a mac, but I get the box either in Logic or Standalone mode.bungle15 wrote:Simple question

What are your computer & DAW specs.
Try opening in standalone and look for other menu settings.
Can you post a screenshot in standalone?

I bought it yesterday and just played with it for 15 minutes.Cinebient wrote:Beside that Korg synth sound much better......for me at least and the GUI (even if they might too small) looks MUCH better.egbert101 wrote:I can only give my impression of Oddity 2, and it sounds gorgeous. The new Korg sounds better and has a nicer GUI than Oddity2.
The Korg emulation is functionally closer to the original.
Oddity2 has an extra suboscillator for extra bottom end and possibility to assign extra ADSRs. This is a nice addition. The Korg only has one ADSR.
No subosc, but the Korg can surely produce a lot of fatness by using its unison.
The filters sounds differently. Filter I in the Korg is very fat. There still seems to be a bug in the filters as filter II and filter III have a large loudness drop compared to filter I. This cannot be by design.
The Korg sequencer/arp is a nice addition. You can sequence pitch, gate and 3 user parameters.
They have chosen for an old school approach in the GUI in line with the original GUI. That means that you can only see the sequence of 1 parameter at a time. It would be nice though if you could see the sequences of multiple parameters at the same time.
That's about what I can say by playing with it for 15 minutes.
It does sound nice so the price is worth it for me.
