Hey out there...this is mainly for new KVR members, a kind of...oh, well, public service announcement from that old Grizzellda...

It is for the betterment of forum readership...

So, I have noticed that not everyone knows how to use the quoting feature on the forum here. So here is how...I'm gonna show you how to quote properly on the old KVR... :hihi:

Right below the posting box, where you actually type your posts, there is another area, where it says "expand view". This is where you can read some previous posts in the thread. This is where you can drag over some text with your mouse, select it, and then in the upper right hand corner, there is a "quote" button. Can you find it?

Well, then a mouse click on that and the quote should appear correctly in your posting box...although, wait... you may still have to adjust or manipulate it, but it should appear highlighted in a light brown, or tan, or beige colour...which is correct for the old KVR...are you getting this? :hihi: :D :hihi: :D

Important: If you want to copy and move the quote around, then you must make sure to also copy the square brackets, something like this...[quote] at the beginning and ending of the quote. If you do not do this, it will not look right, because those brackets define for the computer how it should look.

Always mouse click on the Preview button, before you submit the post, then you can be sure just what it will look like to everyone else on KVR!

It takes a little practice, but you will get it!

Ehhmmm.. no.. i simply click on the "Reply with quote" icon on the top right next to the report icon. I find this way easier.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I was going to type an unfunny comment about struggling to post, or reply, correctly.

But then I remembered how often I end up double (and even triple) posting when using my mobile phone instead of my computer, due to the screen doing 'jumpy' things

Yes, it is the quick elegant way, but doesn't that make more sense for short posts, like the one you just made, murnau?

...but what about longer posts, where you only want to quote something specific? See...this is what I was getting at, and frankly I was offering advice for folks with arguably many less posts than yourself... but surely your forum advice & experience is welcome here.

Say, you are kind of an old timer around here, huh? :hihi: :D
