One of my tunes. Hope someone likes it.

http://www.mpsrecords.com/mp3%20files/0 ... master.mp3
Host: Orion
Drums: old s900 samples I made of a 909 with various free distortion VSTs and some loops sequenced with Logic and made using ns7 kit free
Bass: JX3P
Synths: various free VSTis
Vox recorded with SM57
Is that enough info? I'd need to check for more?

While I wait for the tune to download, I have a question about the thread title?
Are you soliciting constructive criticism, and failing that at least we can offer personal prejudice. Or are you questioning whether constructive criticism exists, and that any feedback we give could only show personal prejudices?

Blimey, what a strange track. Some good bits in it. didnt like the vox at all, way too eighties, as is the general feel of the track. Mix is a bit odd. Too spatial and way too much high end. Pads could do with thickening up to fill out the song a bit. Generally, too much verb.
I'd try transposing some of the instruments down an octave. The acid for example sounds too thin that high up, needs a bit of guts to it.

I really like the vox in the first two minutes or so, when it's barely louder than a whisper, and just sounds like radio interference. Don't much care for it once it's realy loud towards the end.
Would like to hear slightly more effected drum sounds. They sound to clean/straightforward compared to everything else. At times the delay echoes seem a bit intrusive.
I didn't mind the acid lead, but it was too much of the same thing for too long. Agree with Krim, you could easily cut the whole thing down by half. Not enough changes over the ten minutes to sustain interest for that length of time.
S'pose this was more personal prejudice.
Cheers,
Steve

I think Krim allready said here what I felt here as well... There's some good ideas about this one but I think there's too many thinnish parts in here. Occasionally it becomes a full song soundwise and attractive, but it falls back again.
The vocals are okay and give this track more eighties feel I think. But more can be done with it I feel.

My personal prejudice...
A strange track. But some good bits in here, and some good original ideas. a bit euro-poppy
I agree with kriminal in that the mix is slightly strange. I would say that you are mixing your lead instruments too loud and not giving any room to harmonies; the pads, strings, support lines, etc. . The voice in the verse doesn't sit very well.. I think some reverb is needed on it.
I think kriminal is talking about the delay on the lead line being too loud, rather than reverb.
The other thing, with a track this long you need to add more dynamics to provide more interest in the song, to add more of a journey feel to it.
