Hotone released the VStomp Amp one day before NAMM 2018, works both in PC and Mac, supports VST/AU/AAX plugins and Standalone application, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available.

tried it, was under-impressed - strange choice of demo-amps as well - and anyway totally strange that you can only demo some of them - as if that loooong and frequent silence wasn't already more than enough demo-limitation.

My prediction: this is gonna fail.

I actually like it a lot. It responds pretty well to playing dynamics and doesn't have that high end harshness which is pretty common in a lot of amp sims.

It sounds killer with Recabinet and some good IRs.

It's too dry, though. They should've at least packed it with a reverb and delay, to give it a sense of space. A lot of people will dismiss it as just more of the same because its presets just sound too raw.

The Fender and Marshall amps sound great to my ears, and I also like the Engl one for high gain sounds.

I think it sounds good as well. The videos didn't fill me with hope as it's the usual generic blues rock/metal stuff (other guitar styles are available - one day someone will do a demo for an amp sim with some strumming or a bit of jangle

) but the clean models available are nice - especially the Vox style one.

I agree on the lack of effects though - it will put some off for sure. And the demo silence is a bit aggressive - I know you've got to have these limitations, but you hardly get chance to play anything and it cuts off, very irritating!

Especially the Vox model I found quite disappointing - thin & harsh sounding and lacking both dynamics and chime... imo no competition for both Amplitube and TH3 (which both sound quite different from each other but each nonetheless got what it takes)

The YouTube demos sound pretty good, but... one thing that spending years buying loads of ampsims (Amplitube, Revalver, Thermionik, Kuassa, BrainWorx, Joey Sturgis and so on) has taught me is - the biggest difference is the player, not the software. A great guitarist will sound great even with mediocre software, whereas a crap guitarist (me) will always sound crap no matter how much he has spent on software.

If I didn't have loads of ampsims already, this would definitely be something I'd be excited about.

Or a slightly different take is that whatever amp or amp-sim I play through I will mess about with the controls, bit by bit, until I eventually get exactly the same sound.

Trying out the demo, and have to say, I'm really liking the sounds out of the box.
Could do with some modulation stomp boxes, but for the money, it's looking like a purchase.
