Soundspot Oracle algoverb - any good ?

Could find surprisingly few review for this online.

Wow, this is a loaded question here on KVR.

$15 is pretty reasonable for what you get. If you are going to judge it strictly on being a reverb, there are definitely much better options out there. Where it does have value is in addition to the reverb, the other tools/functions that are built into the plugin. That is what makes it useful when you are not necessarily looking for a "standard" reverb.

VariKusBrainZ is right. I have to admit I have wooden ears. I can only understate how bad this plugin is, closest description I can think of is its like a terrible job at emulating a plastic box.

Why even post a comment like this and alienate and insult thousands of paying customers, me included
Oracle is NOT one of their best plug-ins (it can give some interesting results if that's what you're after) but some effects are superb - Hiku and Overtone for example.

I tend to think of SoundSpot plugins as 'character' plugins for sound design. They are not the best-in-class plugins that production pros would look to, but for sound designers they can be pretty useful and are probably well worth the (low) cost. Depends on what you're looking for.

As far as I recall Orcale didn't sound great when I demoed it — but I know some people do like Soundspot plugins and they can be had incredibly cheap (like now).

The problem I have with these smaller marketing-led developers, is that it's not clear who's doing the coding. I'd rather invest in companies which deliver consistent quality from an in-house team. From what I've read, the lead plugin developer for Soundspot is also the dsp guy behind Denise Audio. And this same guy is also part of the dev team for Baby Audio — whose plugins have generally impressed.

Thanks for the patronizing reply, but that wasn't the point. It's simply a notice for people to not get their dander up over comments made 3 years ago, or take the bait from someone with 1 post looking to fan the flames.

It's the best for a wooden/bamboo flute. It's also one of the best for strings. The best for strings is reverbering by nusofting.
