You can hear the vocoder effect in morph when using a drumbeat and strings .( not my video )
Orange vocoder used bandpassfilters for analyzing the input , morph used adaptive transform .( hence the higher quality )
An interesting read here by mastemind Stephan M. Bernsee himself ..

I’ve given up on software vocoders....I’ve tried most of them and they stink, IMO. The free TAL-Vocoder is probably the best I’ve tried. All of the fancy features just make them not sound like real old school vocoders, ya know?

The VP-03 sounds pretty good, but now Behringer is making a VC-300 clone that clearly sounds better, and Waldorf is releasing the STVC which is like the Streichfett with a vocoder and a keyboard. Probably too much $ for just vocoding, how many tracks can you honestly use raspy robot voice in, right?
Logic Pro X : Prophet Rev2, Blofeld, Toraiz-AS1, Model D, Minibrute, MOTU 828x, Presonus Eris E7's, dozens of pedals

How many tracks would be better with raspy robot voice?

Don't overlook the Xils V+ which should not be too far from the Behringer.
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

I am still waiting for a high quality non-robotic "MIDI to Voice" VST to get released, but they don't exist in the VST world, because ALL of them sound bad or very robotic :dog:

Here's a video example of audio hardware doing high quality non-robotic "MIDI to Voice", and it's a shame VSTs still aren't anywhere close to this "MIDI to Voice" quality yet.

Skip to 9 minutes & 50 seconds to hear "MIDI to Voice" in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO2UfDZ2vJk&t=590

TC-Helicon really has some great products, they have a long tradition in voice/harmony manipulation.

Thanks for the link to the Musikmesse video. Orange is sounding pretty great! Looking forward to trying it.

I can't wait to try to this out......It'll be an Instant Buy for me.....I just hope Zynaptiq Prices it Around the $99 Sweet Spot or else potential customers may just want to stick with the Stock Vocoders like the Ableton ones which are quite powerful but Zynaptiq a step ahead in Clean and Quality Sound.........

Yeah its quite possible they learned alot from the Vocoder and tried to do something new with that kind of tech by creating their Morph plugin, together with the help of other algorithms to get a seamless tonal transition. Well, ideally anyway.

Not orange enough - needs to be Tango'd :)

So at this point (Oct. 26, 2018), the "early Q2 2018" release date still on the product page at Zynaptiq's website looks a little... doubtful. :ud:

I'm still excited about Orange Vocoder v4, and truly would prefer them to release a stable version when it's actually ready rather than a quick buggy version. Maybe we'll get a Black Friday intro sale! :D

Post

Same here, I've been excited for this since March. But by now I'm not surprised; afaik Zynaptiq has always been late to release and quiet about what's going on. If no update by 2019, I'm really gonna start wondering.
