What do you consider the best software for accurate Key and BPM detection?
It can be standalone or a VST.

The only I'm aware of is Mixed In Key, but I haven't used it.
Any opinions would be appreciated!

It's great, but mostly suitable for full songs. Gets cluttered after detecting 20 000 samples.

I have used Mixed in Key in the past ( a few versions ago) and had great results. I never did try to feed it thousands of samples though.

I use NI Traktor for this. For key detection I don't know how it compares to other options because it's the only such tool I've tried, but it works pretty reliably.

For BPM detection I've found Traktor's estimates to be more accurate than both Live's and Cubase's BPM detection for warping imported clips.

I don't own any Traktor hardware. I think I got a license for a limited version with a NI audio interface, and I eventually paid for the Traktor Pro upgrade. I only use it for the key and BPM detection built into its "analyze" feature.

For what it's worth, Traktor uses a couple of notation options for key detection: Musical (traditional) and Open Key. You can switch between them under Preferences > Analyze Options > Musical Key.

And mixedinkey uses Camelot wheel as an option. Though you may not want to use it on samples

Oh wow. I'm very familiar with using the circle of fifths, but I've actually never heard of the Camelot wheel or Open Key. I learned something new. Thank you, UltimateOutsider and Distorted Horizon for the info!
