Time for a pair of monitors - M Audio BX5 or JBL LSR25P

I feel it's time I got myself a pair of monitors. Up until now I've been using a pair of Sennheiser HD580's phones and the Creative (sorry) speakers that came with my PC.
My setup is as follows
3GHz Dell with 2GB RAM 250GB disk
E-MU 1820 card

My 'studio' is in a corner of the dining room, so not ideal but that's all the space I'm allowed. The monitors need to be small and I'm not going to be able to place them more than about 3ft apart and I'll be sitting about 4ft in front of them.

I'll spend up to around £300.

I've read good stuff about the M Audio BX5 on another thread but would be keen to hear any views on the JBL LSR25P as I can get a pair of these for about £300

Any recommendations will be much appreciated.

I just acquired a pair of BX-5s, boy has it changed the way I hear stuff. First my own work (previously mixed through a hifi) sounds shite, second just about everyone else's sounds gorgeous. Likewise I make do with a less than ideal space but now feel confident I will be able to get a half decent sound; the rest of the equation being my own lack of production skills. I can't comment on the JBLs but would recommend the M-AUDIO without hesitation. Incidently, I live in Japan and picked up a pair for roughly half the budget you have.

Whatever you buy, enjoy the difference it'll make!

I couldn't make up my mind, so I went for a pair of Event TR8's which should arrive tomorrow

Thanks for your advice, but I guessed that it was probably worth spending a bit more and I have read lots of good things about the TR8's - now I get to hear just how bad some of my stuff sounds
