I didn't have any, but use Logic not that intensive... At least it seams, that there was a fast reaction on real world problems some users were facing...

It's weird. Some people have 0 issues, or at least showstoppers. Some do. I never have. It is nice to know that Apple is on the ball.

Will not upgrade, stuck with El Capitan and I will probably not buy a new overpriced Imac.
I red a article on the keyboard magazine which explain that more an more pro studio are deceived by Mac, they don't listen to pro requests and is far expensive and underspecd than PC. So they swith to Windows.

I've gotten more poof crashes and endless beachballs since Logic 10.3 than Live, Reaper and Reason with AUs that work just fine in other hosts...Tj Shredder wrote:The change list tells a story of desaster, no more unexpected quits...!

My buddy just found a 13.3-inch 2015 Macbook Air on Craigslist for $250. Girl didn't know what she had (thought it was older and there's a ding on one corner), and he didn't know what he was buying so it was dumb luck. There are deals out there.pdxindy wrote:Post a link to that article...dupont wrote:Will not upgrade, stuck with El Capitan and I will probably not buy a new overpriced Imac.

How far back are you? I just updated a 2009 to High Sierra without issues. Some pro studios are moving on. Some aren't. The grass is always greener.

Though I really looked hard, when having been in need of a faster computer last year, with the additional requirement of being transportable without car and silent in the studio. A used 2013 Mac Pro was the only affordable solution. Still a lot of money, but worth it...
I am really happy with my 10-core. It fits in my backpack, I use a 11" Air as monitor (via screen sharing), and finally have no worries about too little CPU power...
On the other hand, until now they did not upgrade their pro series, except for iMacs (not transportable at all...
.
Alone the synths are worth to have a Mac. I don't like Logic so much, for audio editing its a toy, for other stuff its probably quite powerful. And it has full MPE support...
As developer Apple is too far away for me, whereas to Ardour or Bitwig developers I can talk directly...

Still on Imac late 2007, working very well (so why changing), not compatible with high sierra.jonljacobi wrote: How far back are you? I just updated a 2009 to High Sierra without issues. Some pro studios are moving on. Some aren't. The grass is always greener.
