Hi,

have thought about taking a course on electronic music production to learn a little bit more about the basics and techniques from experienced people.

I have started to produce my favorite kind of Music on my own (I am at the beginning, but have just released a first track. I have already posted it here in this forum)...

My favorite genre is Trance Music (Upliftiftig Trance).

But i will take my knowledge on how to produce music in this genre to a higher level..... So, i am thinking about taking a course to learn from.

Is there something, you can recommend?

Masterclass with Armin van Buuren, or Sonicacademy with Björn Akkesson, or James Dymond? Something else?

Thanks for you answers....
Regards
danyo

If you use Ableton Live and can spare 20 hours a week for 8-16 weeks you might like to try Quantize Courses

I did the Compass course a few years ago and I still use a lot of techniques that I learned to this day. Don't be put off by the house/techno bias, a lot of the material covered is applicable to most 4/4 dance genres and Keith was more than able to accommodate me as a psytrance-head! The feedback videos were the best part, so if you can afford it, I'd go for Compass first or Laser, if you're feeling really flush! I made good use of the student discount too, grabbing Live Suite 9 and the Fab Filter Total Bundle for 40% and 50% off retail, respectively. The discount was availble for a whole year from the start of the course so I bought Live first and then the FF bundle just before the year was up, saving myself the cost of the course and then some!

Do you already know how to play an instrument? Understand music theory? If not, you would probably benefit most from piano lessons. The technical side of things you can learn online, but if you don’t have a strong foundation in music itself, you’ll always be at a disadvantage.
