Hey folks -- I'm using an SBLive with the KXProject drivers. Everything worked nicely in Win 98SE, but now that I've been forced into XP I can't get ASIO output. No program that uses ASIO can access it. My old Retro AS-1 (Bitheadz) doesn't recognize that there is ASIO, even though the KX driver insists that it's there. Other programs say: "Can't load ASIO"; "Can't connect to synth"; or some such. It almost seems like something in XP has hijacked the ASIO, but I can't find anything that's loaded. I've removed just about everything I can with msconfig. Any thoughts.

I have them installed on an XP config, no problem. There is something else.

Get ASIO4ALL. It is more stable and doesn't provide as many applications. I have it working on every laptop I own from Win-2000 through XP.

The problem is that windows XP does not support ASIO drivers. Microsoft realized that people were getting good audio performance out of their boxes and devloped their own standard called MME. you have to use this MME interface, because audio performance with latency better than 200ms latency is simply unacceptable to MS.

OK, now that I have made an ass of myself, I will try to help. Are you trying to install the same KX driver version that you used on 98? do you have teh latest version? I know tha twhen I installed it on my wifes PC, I had to fiddle with the mixer settings to get sound, so you may want to look there.
